The Technical Construction company I.CON DEVELOPMENT undertook the study and design of a new 5* tourist complex in Zakynthos.
It is a tourist complex, which will develop into an area of 12,100 square meters, next to the sea.
The complex combines the characteristics of the sea and the sun, “touching” the coastline of the area. Harmoniously, the minimal architecture is combined with the unlimited view towards the sea and the mountain, offering a sense of relaxation. The self-contained apartments, with their private swimming pool, as well as their geometry and placement, have been designed in such a way as to highlight the architectural design’s disposition for privacy and integration with the external environment. The water element, apart from the central pool, is also found in the main building. The water “embraces” the concave and curved part of the central building, thus creating impressive water strips.
Specifically, the tourist complex will consist of twenty-eight self-contained apartments, each of which has its own private pool. The twenty apartments have 35.00 sq.m. net area, while the eight apartments have 90.00 sq.m. clean inner surface. In the main building, in addition to the basic functions, kitchen, sanitary areas and employee accommodation areas, where they will be located in the basement, as well as staff administration areas, where they will be located on the floor, it will function as a free permeable space for socializing, creating various seating areas and bars, which evolve around the perimeter of the lobby – reception, which occupies the central position of the building. At the same time, the main building houses two large meeting and event rooms, where they have the potential for multiple uses.
The area of the restaurant-bar of the complex was designed as a continuation of the surrounding area, next to the central swimming pool, with unclear boundaries of the building, in relation to the surrounding area, giving the impression that they are connected to each other, causing a harmonious perception of the space. It follows simple lines, with large glazing at different levels, allowing natural light to enter the building.
At the back of the complex, we find a fairly large space, which is designed in such a way that it can host any kind of exhibition.
